Porsche fitted the new 992.2-generation 911 GT3 with Manthey Performance's track-focused kit, pushing the nameplate closer to its motorsport roots. Manthey, the legendary Porsche race team, engineered aerodynamic upgrades and suspension tuning that dramatically improve Nurburgring lap times.
The kit adds aggressive downforce through modified front and rear wings, a revised splitter, and side skirts. The suspension receives adjustability that wasn't standard on the base GT3, allowing drivers to dial in handling for different track conditions. Porsche hasn't released exact performance figures yet, but Manthey-equipped 911s have historically shaved multiple seconds off lap records.
This marks a significant shift in Porsche's strategy. The factory now sells factory-backed track upgrades rather than leaving modifications to aftermarket shops. The approach mirrors what Ferrari and Lamborghini do with their track variants, treating the road car as a baseline for serious performance tuning.
The 992.2 GT3 already packs a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six producing 502 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual remains standard, catering to purists who reject dual-clutch automatics. Even without the Manthey kit, the standard GT3 delivers neck-snapping acceleration and surgical handling.
What sets the Manthey version apart is its credibility. Manthey doesn't just slap a sticker on cars. The team races 911 GT3s in the IMSA and NLS series, so every upgrade stems from actual track data and competition experience. Customers buying the Manthey package get suspension geometry and aerodynamic concepts proven in real racing.
