Chevrolet's Z51 package transforms the C8 Corvette Stingray from a capable sports car into a genuine track weapon. Available exclusively on the Stingray trim, the package bundles performance upgrades across powertrain, chassis, and aerodynamics.

The Z51 starts with a power bump. The 6.2-liter LT2 V8 gains 5 horsepower and 5 pound-feet of torque, reaching 495 hp and 470 lb-ft. Chevrolet adds an upgraded cooling system to handle sustained high-temperature driving, critical for lap work where engine heat becomes a real concern.

Suspension geometry shifts dramatically. The Z51 lowers ride height by 0.4 inches and stiffens springs and dampers across both axles. Anti-roll bars gain stiffness. These changes reduce body roll in corners and improve turn-in response. The package also includes electronic limited-slip differential tuning, directing power more aggressively to the rear wheel with the most grip.

Brakes receive attention too. Z51 models get larger rotors and higher-friction pads, essential for repeated hard stops on circuit. Brembo hardware replaces the base system entirely.

Aerodynamic changes push downforce. A new front splitter, rear wing, and underbody work increase pressure on the tires as speeds rise. The rear wing alone generates meaningful load at 100-plus mph, something street-only Corvettes skip.

Wheels and tires complete the package. Z51 cars roll on unique 20-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber, a track-focused compound that grips harder than the standard Goodyear Eagle.
