Subaru introduced the 2027 Trailseeker, a new compact adventure-focused SUV designed to slot below the Crosstrek in the brand's lineup. The vehicle targets buyers seeking affordable access to Subaru's standard all-wheel-drive system and outdoor-ready styling without the premium pricing of larger models.
The Trailseeker carries forward Subaru's trademark symmetrical AWD architecture, pairing it with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. The body features cladding, skid plates, and a squared-off stance that evokes adventure utility without requiring genuine off-road capability. Ground clearance sits at 8.3 inches, adequate for light trails and rough roads.
Interior accommodations include seating for five with 47.9 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the rear seats. Standard features across trim levels include a 6.5-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration, rear-view camera, and cloth upholstery. Higher trims add an 8-inch screen, heated seats, and all-wheel-drive locking differentials.
Pricing starts at $22,995 for the base model, undercutting the Crosstrek by roughly $3,000. Subaru positions the Trailseeker to compete directly with the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross, both of which offer similar affordability and compact dimensions but lack Subaru's
