The refreshed Artura retains its mid-mounted 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6, now paired with an upgraded electric motor system. Combined output reaches 680 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque, up from the original model's 645 hp. The electric component carries greater responsibility in low-speed driving and launch control, reducing turbo lag and improving throttle response in urban environments where owners actually spend time.
Charging architecture improves with a faster DC rapid-charging capability, pushing range on battery alone to approximately 20 miles. That addresses one persistent criticism: the original Artura felt less like a genuine hybrid and more like a supercar with a decorative battery pack.
The 2027 model receives subtle exterior refinements. McLaren sharpens the headlight design, reshapes the rear wing, and integrates a more assertive front splitter. Interior updates include an overhauled infotainment system replacing the first-gen's troublesome touchscreen setup.
