# 2027 Porsche Taycan: Second-Generation Electric Sport Sedan Arrives
Porsche unveiled the 2027 Taycan, the second generation of its all-electric sport sedan. The new model builds on the original's foundation while introducing meaningful improvements in range, performance, and technology.
The updated Taycan launches with two primary powertrains. The base model produces 402 horsepower, while the Taycan Turbo S generates 938 horsepower with overboost function. Acceleration on the top variant reaches 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds, cementing Porsche's commitment to electric performance credentials.
Range expands across the lineup. The standard Taycan achieves an estimated 300 miles on a full charge using an 85-kWh battery pack. The larger 100-kWh battery option pushes that figure closer to 360 miles, directly competing with the Tesla Model S Long Range and BMW iX M60.
Charging speed improves substantially. Porsche's 800-volt architecture enables 10-80 percent charging in approximately 22 minutes using DC fast charging at 270 kW. This directly addresses one of the primary criticisms from the first-generation model.
The interior receives a complete redesign. Porsche eliminates the previous angled infotainment screen in favor of a flush, integrated display. The new 12.9-inch touchscreen incorporates Google Built-in technology for navigation, entertainment, and voice control. Traditional analog controls remain for critical functions.
Pricing starts at $79,900 for the base Taycan. The Turbo S variant carries a $139,900 sticker. These figures position the new Taycan between the Porsche 911 Carrera and the 911
