BYD is making public EV charging and parking a whole lot easier

BYD and Parkopedia have launched ParkPay, an in-car service designed to simplify EV charging and parking for drivers. The integrated system eliminates the friction of locating available parking spots and processing payments directly through the vehicle's interface.

The partnership addresses a real pain point in the EV ownership experience. Finding public charging stations and paying for parking remains fragmented across multiple apps and payment methods. ParkPay consolidates these functions into a single solution accessible from the dashboard, reducing the need to exit the vehicle or toggle between applications.

Parkopedia brings established expertise in parking and charging networks across Europe and beyond. BYD contributes its massive installed base and software ecosystem. The automaker now controls one of the world's largest EV markets and has pushed aggressively into software integration. This collaboration lets BYD add valuable services that increase the appeal of its vehicles to drivers concerned about charging accessibility.

The expansion into EV-specific features like charging location and availability marks a natural evolution of the platform.
