Lotus has refreshed the Emira sports car for the 2027 model year, bringing updated styling, revised powertrains, and new technology to its mid-engine competitor. The 2027 Emira carries forward Lotus's lightweight philosophy with a carbon-fiber chassis and aluminum bodywork. Visual updates include a restyled front fascia, new LED headlight signatures, and refined bodylines that sharpen the car's angular design language. Inside, the cabin receives a larger touchscreen infotainment system and improved interior materials.
Engine options include a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, both carried over from the previous generation. The V6 delivers 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, while the turbo four produces 365 horsepower and 317 pound-feet. Both engines pair with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Lotus targets 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds for the V6 variant.
Pricing starts around $65,000 for the base four-cylinder model, with the supercharged V6 commanding a premium. This positions the Emira as considerably cheaper than the Chevrolet Corvette C8 while offering mid-engine architecture and handling dynamics that appeal to enthusiasts prioritizing driver engagement over mainstream practicality.
