Coach doors remain a rarity in the SUV segment, appearing on select luxury models like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Range Rover. Genesis employs them as a statement of opulence and ease of entry for rear passengers, particularly those boarding the third row. The decision reflects Hyundai's luxury division pushing upmarket with premium touches that justify the GV90's positioning above the existing GV80.
The GV90 represents Genesis's answer to three-row flagships like the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Lexus LX.
