Mazda canceled the CX-70 after two model years and will replace it with a two-row version of the CX-90 starting in 2027. The automaker announced the decision on October 27.
The two-row CX-90 drops the CX-70's plug-in hybrid option. It comes in 280-horsepower Turbo Premium Sport and 340-horsepower Turbo S Premium Sport trims only. The three-row CX-90 continues with both turbocharged engines plus a plug-in hybrid powertrain across a wider range of trim levels.
Pricing for 2027 starts at $41,345 for the three-row CX-90 Turbo Select and $48,525 for the two-row CX-90 Turbo Premium Sport, with destination included.
For 2027, the CX-90 gains revised rear suspension bushings and a new suspension crossmember for smoother ride quality over rough roads. Four new paint colors debut, with two exclusive to the two-row model: Melting Copper Metallic and Zircon Sand Metallic. Both rows get Navy Blue Mica and Aero Grey Metallic. The plug-in hybrid's electric motor now includes external insulation for quieter low-speed running.
The base Turbo Select trim includes a 7-inch digital driver display, eight-way power driver seat with lumbar support, eight-speaker audio, keyless entry, three-zone automatic climate control, and a power liftgate.
