Nick Sherr, an Arizona Nissan enthusiast known online as Nismo Nick, built two modified R51-generation Pathfinders for the 2026 SEMA Show to celebrate the model's 40th anniversary. The Trackfinder pairs a supercharged VQ40 V-6 engine with a six-speed manual gearbox and claims 501 horsepower at the wheels. The supercharger comes from Z1 Off-Road, paired with an UpRev tune. The manual transmission features a Centerforce clutch and flywheel, roll-forged wheels, Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Season tires, and a Seibon carbon-fiber hood. Sherr cited the GMC Typhoon as inspiration for the manual swap.

The Trailfinder companion vehicle takes a different approach with a VK56 V-8 engine and off-road-focused upgrades. Those include a Z1 Off-Road Titan-swap X-Pro suspension, big brake kit, aftermarket intake, snorkel, 35-inch Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme tires, rock sliders, and Hammerhead Armor bumpers. Rigid Industries lighting rounds out the build.

"I wanted something that would make people laugh, smile, and question everything they thought they knew about a Pathfinder," Sherr said in the release. Both vehicles feature comprehensive body and interior changes with visual links to the current D41-generation Nissan Frontier. The Trackfinder debuted without published performance figures or lap times.
