Hyundai Motor Group outlined a multi-technology electrification strategy at the FISITA World Mobility Summit 2026 in Hwaseong, Korea, keeping battery, hybrid, range-extender, and fuel cell options available as markets shift.

Manfred Harrer, President and Head of the Research and Development Division, delivered the opening-day keynote describing a roadmap built to adapt to changing market and customer needs across four drivetrain routes. The group aims to pair engineering expertise with AI-based digital tools for future vehicle development.

Chang Hwan Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Electrification Energy Solutions Tech Unit at Hyundai Motor Group and the first Korean President of FISITA, opened the event by calling for varied technology approaches and closer global cooperation. He stated: "Hyundai Motor Group will continue to strengthen its competitiveness in key future mobility technologies and continue to participate in technology exchange and collaboration across the global automotive industry to contribute to the development of the future mobility sector."

The two-day summit, held in Korea for the first time, features sessions on AI, batteries, energy infrastructure, autonomous driving, and software-defined vehicles. Hyundai's exhibition displays the Tucson and Genesis GV90 alongside a robotics platform, hydrogen tank, and battery pack to reflect its multi-pathway approach.
