McLaren confirmed the McL 820 as the successor to the 750S, with production targeted for 2027. The supercar will produce 820 PS, which converts to 809 mechanical horsepower, a significant increase from the 750S's 740 horses.

The name combines a new "McL" prefix with the numeric horsepower designation. McLaren previewed this naming convention on the McL 6GT shown during Monterey Car Week earlier this year. The automaker teased the McL 820 on a giant kiwi statue displayed in central London, a nod to founder Bruce McLaren's New Zealand heritage.

More details about the McL 820 will arrive next year, with the car itself launching in 2027 across streets and racetracks.
