Andrew Patterson lost control entering the pit lane at Homestead-Miami Speedway during the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Championship Race and spun into the sand barrels. Patterson kept on the gas while fishtailing but still clipped the barrels with his rear right. The incident triggered a red flag, halting the race with five drivers still in contention for the 2026 O'Reilly Series Championship.

Carson Kvapil and Sam Mayer had entered the pits just before Patterson after battling for the lead.

Sand barrels at the pit-lane entrance have disrupted Homestead-Miami races before. In 2023, Kyle Larson crashed out of the fall race at the same track while chasing a potential championship. Larson was already locked into the Championship Four after a win the prior week, but the crash cost him points and hurt his title chances. The incident came a day before Larson needs nine points to clinch his third championship.
