It carries genuine rock-crawling credentials with electronic locking differentials, disconnecting sway bars, and a solid approach angle designed for technical terrain. These features matter to Jeep's core audience, which views the brand as authentic adventure hardware rather than lifestyle cosplay.

But here's where the EV baggage becomes tangible. The Recon's electric powertrain imposes weight penalties that undercut off-road performance. Lithium-ion batteries push the vehicle over 5,000 pounds, adding roughly 1,000 pounds compared to an equivalent gasoline Wrangler.
