Tesla is equipping all Model 3 vehicles sold in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico with a larger 16-inch center touchscreen. The rollout follows the same upgrade's arrival in China by one day.

The Model 3 Performance variant receives multiple enhancements. It now offers 316 miles of range and produces 528 horsepower. A black headliner is included as standard.

The Premium AWD model accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, representing a performance gain for that trim level.

The 16-inch screen represents Tesla's push to standardize larger displays across its entry-level sedan lineup. The company previously introduced the screen in higher-end variants and international markets before bringing it to all US Model 3 models.

The updates add measurable performance and range benefits to the Model 3 lineup. The 316-mile range on the Performance variant matches or exceeds comparable electrified sedans in its class. The 528-horsepower output delivers meaningful acceleration for buyers seeking sportier driving dynamics.

One notable absence remains the lack of vehicle-to-load capability for US market Model 3 vehicles. This feature, which allows owners to power external devices from the vehicle's battery, has appeared in some Tesla models and markets but has not been confirmed for the US Model 3 lineup.

The screen upgrade alone signals Tesla's commitment to improving the in-vehicle user experience across price points. Larger displays enable simplified menu navigation and provide more screen real estate for navigation and vehicle controls. The combination of display improvements, performance gains, and range increases positions the refreshed Model 3 as a more competitive offering in its segment.
