Nissan's 2027 Rogue Hybrid uses an e-Power series hybrid drivetrain that sets it apart from competitors in the compact crossover segment. The 148-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine charges a 1.67-kWh battery but has no mechanical connection to the wheels. Electric motors at the front and rear axles power the vehicle, with the front motor producing 202 hp and 243 pound-feet of torque and the rear motor making 134 hp and 144 lb-ft of torque. The combined system generates 225 hp and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 6.4 seconds, which Nissan claims is the quickest in its class. All-wheel drive is standard.
The Rogue Hybrid achieves 41 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined. The Toyota RAV4 hybrid outperforms it with 46 mpg city, 39 mpg highway and 42 mpg combined. However, the Rogue's e-Power drivetrain delivers a near-EV-like driving experience with minimal engine noise and no transmission shifts, not even a CVT. The cabin remains quiet during highway driving and city use, which Nissan emphasized as a core design goal.
The interior features soft-touch materials throughout, with dual 14.3-inch screens (the center display is 12.3 inches as standard) running infotainment with Google built-in services and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 15-watt Qi2 magnetic wireless charger comes standard, with dual chargers available. ProPilot driver assistance systems include lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control, hands-off traffic jam assist under 31 mph, and automatic lane changing. The rear seat provides comfortable seating for occupants up to 6-foot-1, with 31.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and 65.9 cubic feet with seats folded.
