Fabrizio Giugiaro, son of legendary designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, has penned the GFG Style Peralta D, a one-off 2+2 grand tourer with an unusual material choice. The car features bare copper on its lower body panels and around its exterior trim, a surface that would develop oxidation over time similar to the Statue of Liberty. The design includes a wedge shape and a glassy canopy that opens as either small gullwing doors or as a single massive piece. At the rear, two more gullwing sections open like an engine cover, allowing rear passengers to enter and exit through a diagonal opening.
GFG Style calls this an evolution of the dome design used on the previous Peralta S one-off. Carbon fiber elements appear on the front and rear bumpers. The car uses an aluminum chassis and top-of-the-line mechanical components based on the Maserati GranTurismo. Giorgetto Giugiaro founded GFG Style with his son Fabrizio after leaving Italdesign Giugiaro over a decade ago.
