Audacious Automotive, a British manufacturer, is building the Audacious Automotive IV, a reimagined Audi Quattro that combines B7-generation RS4 underpinnings with the short-wheelbase Quattro's styling and bodywork.
The IV uses a 4.2-liter V-8 instead of the original Quattro's five-cylinder engine. Audacious offers four engine configurations. The standard setup pairs the V-8 with a supercharger to produce 592 horsepower. A Stage Two conversion with strengthened internals and improved cooling raises output to 740 hp. Both supercharged and naturally aspirated options increase the engine's redline from 8250 rpm to 10,000 rpm, though Audacious does not confirm additional power at the higher redline.
Every IV uses the RS4's original six-speed manual transmission. Audacious claims the car accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 mph, without specifying which engine configuration achieves that speed.
Customers can order the IV with metal bodywork from an original Quattro donor car or with a new carbon-fiber body that requires no donor vehicle. Audacious expects about 80 percent of orders to use the carbon-fiber option. Carbon versions target a curb weight of around 2755 pounds, while donor-car builds weigh around 3140 pounds.
The interior features raw styling with leather trim. Production is limited to 50 hand-built units worldwide. Pricing starts at roughly $468,650.
