KTM X-Bow plans to bring a new canopy-roofed model called the GT-XA to the United States, with U.S. distributor Carbon Yard working toward street legalization. The Austrian manufacturer sold its X-Bow line, and the new owners are shifting strategy away from track-only vehicles.
The GT-XA ditches the open-top design of earlier X-Bow models in favor of a lifted canopy roof that serves as the entry point. An Audi-sourced five-cylinder engine powers the car. A GT-XR variant announced for other markets produces 584 horsepower, giving a clear indication of the GT-XA's likely output. The lightweight carbon construction prioritizes speed.
Reservations of $50,000 opened immediately, with the company stating they are "fully refundable until the vehicle is approved." The anticipated starting price sits at "$490,000 and under."
