Peitz Performance of Tomball, Texas has completed a running and driving prototype of a C8 Corvette equipped with a Tremec TR9060 manual transaxle, which the shop displayed at the 2026 SEMA Show. This marks the first manual-equipped mid-engine Corvette to reach drivable status after Tremec revealed the transmission at the 2025 SEMA Show.

Peitz lists the conversion package at $74,528.99 with availability targeted for July 2027. The swap uses cable-controlled shifting operated from the left side of the transaxle housing and incorporates a concentric slave cylinder for clutch actuation.

The shifter originated as a Porsche six-speed design. The clutch pedal came from a Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing but was modified with a pedal stop and hydraulic clutch assist. A new flywheel combines a C8 ring and teeth with clutch components. The brake and clutch pedals share a common assembly via a custom bracket.

Engine management required a Motec 182 Plug and Play controller paired with a Motec 150 for transmission control. This setup allows programming of downshift throttle blips, upshift ignition cuts, and monitoring of gear position and transmission fluid temperature. Peitz Performance leveraged its existing expertise tuning DCT-equipped C8s to integrate the manual system with the car's electronics.

The Tremec transaxle can handle approximately 1,000 pound-feet of torque and survive to 8,600 rpm. The package remains in development, with Peitz expecting a final, installable form in the first quarter of 2027.
