Hyundai's software unit 42dot rolled out the first over-the-air update to Gleo AI, the voice assistant in the Hyundai Grandeur that launched in May 2026. The update, delivered via Hyundai's Pleos Connect system, incorporates owner feedback to sharpen navigation search, messaging, and routine functions.
Drivers can now request locations by voice and receive route-aware suggestions. The assistant proposes rest areas, gas stations, and restrooms based on current position and distance without requiring explicit instructions. Fuel searches now display prices sorted by fuel type.
The update adds an on-device text-to-speech engine to read messages aloud. It blocks calls and texts from rear-seat passengers to prevent unintended commands. The assistant also summarizes multiple waypoints with remaining journey time and improved Bluetooth music handling.
Owners receive a startup prompt to install the update without visiting a dealer. 42dot said further releases will target everyday features. The five-month cycle of refinements shows Hyundai positioning the voice assistant as evolving software rather than a static product, aligning with its broader shift toward software-defined vehicles.
