Vector Informatik launched CANoe Emulation Package EV, software that recreates charging station behavior in the lab using communication data recorded during actual charging sessions. The tool lets EV developers replay rare faults and edge cases on demand, reducing the need for repeated trips to physical chargers for interoperability testing.
The package extracts parameters from recorded sessions to mimic how a specific charging station behaves. It accepts trace files in BLF and PCAP formats and emulates charger behavior under DIN 70121 and ISO 15118-2 standards across relevant communication layers. Teams can deploy it in software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and full-vehicle test setups.
Each run repeats exactly because the emulation runs on parameters alone, a requirement for automated testing and continuous integration pipelines. Regression testing benefits most since a software fix can be rechecked against the same recorded session after every change.
Vector said conformance testing for the Combined Charging System remains with its separate CANoe Test Package EV. The firm provided no pricing or availability date.
