Genesis introduced the 2027 GV60 Magma, a new high-performance variant of its smallest electric SUV. The Magma delivers 641 horsepower from dual motors and accelerates to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds, matching the output and pace of Hyundai's Ioniq 5 N in tested performance.
The base rear-wheel-drive GV60 produces 225 horsepower and achieves 306 miles of range per charge. All-wheel-drive models combine 314 horsepower across front and rear motors. The Magma sacrifices range for power, offering only 220 miles of rated range and 200 miles in real-world 75-mph highway testing.
All GV60 models use an 84-kWh lithium-ion battery and support 800-volt charging architecture. Genesis claims DC fast charging reaches 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes, a figure confirmed in testing. Level 2 AC charging replenishes the battery from 10 to 100 percent in about seven hours.
The Magma receives chassis recalibration with specific damper tuning and 275/35R-21 Pirelli tires developed exclusively for the model. Drivers access multiple drive modes: Sprint, GT, and customizable MY mode alongside Launch Control and Boost mode. A drift mode is available but Genesis does not market it for street use. In testing, the Magma proved nimble in corners and more polished than the Ioniq 5 N.
The Magma interior features synthetic suede upholstery with Magma Orange and grey stitching on seats, doors, and center console. A Magma-exclusive steering wheel includes orange accents. A 27.0-inch touchscreen spans the dashboard, integrating the digital gauge cluster and infotainment. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in-dash navigation, and a head-up display come standard. An optional 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system is available.
Cargo behind the rear seat measures 24.0 cubic feet, expanding to 54.7 cubic feet with seats folded. The frunk holds just 0.71 cubic feet. All Magma models include parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centering features.
The 2027 model year also introduces an all-wheel-drive Prestige trim positioned between the base model and Magma. Genesis replaced the previous Performance trim with the Magma designation.
