Jaguar Land Rover will discontinue the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Velar by mid-2027, the company confirmed to Road & Track. Both models will continue sales in selected global markets through 2027 before production ends.

The current Evoque launched in 2018 and received a mid-cycle refresh for 2024. The Velar debuted in 2017 and also got a refresh for 2024. Neither will receive a new generation.

JLR's Solihull factory will shift to producing the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and the forthcoming Jaguar Type 01. The Halewood facility will build the new Range Rover GT and a new Defender family model.

Removing both models leaves Range Rover with only three nameplates. JLR plans to address the affordable segment through its Defender and Discovery brands instead. A smaller Defender model could replace the Evoque's market position, while the Discovery already competes near Velar pricing. The Discovery Sport ends production this year.

The Evoque and Velar were marketed as entry points to the Range Rover brand when launched, though they generated sales growth for JLR despite initial controversy.
