The 2027 Buick Envista pairs a sleeker, coupe-like roofline with an upscale interior to differentiate itself from its sibling, the Chevrolet Trax. Both vehicles use the same turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine rated at 137 horsepower, a six-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is not available.

For 2027, Buick added driver-assistance technology as standard equipment, including adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high-beam headlamps. The midrange Sport Touring trim now includes the front center armrest previously exclusive to the top Avenir model. The compact spare tire becomes optional this year.

The Envista's cabin seats four adults and uses a single piece of glass housing an 8.0-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, along with an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot. The base Preferred trim includes adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, and a large touchscreen. Interior materials are solid for the segment, though the Avenir trim offers more upscale ambient qualities.

Acceleration feels "surprisingly perky" in casual driving, but highway passing requires patience as the turbo spools up, making the Envista feel "more lethargic" under hard throttle. The 2025 model tested needed 9.3 seconds to reach 60 mph. Handling remains confident and poised, with precise steering and well-controlled braking.

The EPA estimates 28 mpg city, 32 highway, and 30 mpg combined. In testing on a 75-mph highway route, the 2025 model delivered its 32-mpg highway estimate precisely. Cargo space totals 20 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 42 cubic feet with seats folded.

The Envista starts at $29,695 and seats five passengers. If all-wheel drive is desired, Buick offers the similarly sized but more upright Encore GX as an alternative.
