Ford's 2027 Maverick compact truck packs several hidden features that owners often overlook, from clever storage solutions to customizable safety systems and onboard power options.

The Maverick uses Ford's Flexbed design with a 54.4-inch bed. Tie-down points on the multiposition tailgate double as bottle openers. A grooved bed design allows owners to install custom storage using 2x4s or 2x6s. Optional bed rails include a removable tray, and a QR code in the bed links to storage ideas. In-bed LED lighting is available. Inside the cab, storage sits under the rear bench, in door panels, behind the infotainment screen, and in the center console armrest.

The Maverick can be optioned with Co-Pilot360, a suite of driver-assistance features available even on the base XL trim. These include pre-collision assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control with lane centering, and evasive steering assist. Drivers can customize each feature individually through the infotainment system's Settings and Features menus.

Power options are extensive. Every Maverick comes with two 12-volt power points in the cab and two pre-wired 12-volt leads in the bed. Starting with the XLT trim, owners can add two 120-volt household-style outlets powered by a 400-watt inverter. One outlet is located on the back of the center console in the rear cabin, and the other is in the bed near the left flank.

The Maverick also features Ford Integrated Tether System (FITS) slots in under-seat storage and on the rear center console. Ford publishes CAD files allowing owners to 3D print custom storage solutions. Ford sells its own FITS accessories, and users have published designs ranging from cupholders to phone holsters to cargo dividers. Ford recommends a maximum breakaway threshold of 17 pounds for custom FITS designs and suggests adding breakaway features to avoid damaging the console.
