Michelotto, a Ferrari motorsports specialist with over 55 years of experience, has built the Gruppo Four Tributo in partnership with AC Motorsport. The car pays homage to the Ferrari 308 that Michelotto prepared for Group 4 rally racing, which led to Ferrari's sole WRC podium victory.

The Gruppo Four Tributo is a ground-up build, not a restomod. It sits on a tubeframe chassis with a built-in roll cage and wears carbon-composite body panels shaped like the original 308 GTB. The naturally aspirated 3.4-liter V-8 produces 380 horsepower at 8250 rpm and feeds power through a five-speed dogleg manual gearbox. Pop-up headlights remain. The car weighs just 2094 pounds.

Michelotto's track record includes preparing the F40 LM, the competition version of Ferrari's 1980s supercar. The company's work on the 308 for tarmac and gravel racing informed this road car's setup, which is optimized purely for tarmac driving.

The Gruppo Four Tributo contrasts with Ferrari's new 12Cilindri Manuale, which uses an electronically managed manual system rather than a fully mechanical gearbox. Production levels and pricing details remain unannounced, though high prices and low production are expected.
