Ford unveiled the Frostwarden at SEMA in Las Vegas, a search-and-rescue-inspired Bronco built around the Megazilla 2.0 crate engine. The engine produces over 1200 horsepower and over 1000 pound-feet of torque, making it Ford's most powerful crate engine ever.
The Megazilla 2.0 builds off Ford's 7.3-liter V-8 crate engine lineup. It uses a stronger block, upgraded pistons, larger fuel injectors, a different belt drive and damper, and a supercharger-specific camshaft paired with a 3.0-liter Gen 6 Whipple supercharger.
The Frostwarden is a one-off build. It sits on a 74Weld portal lift kit with 42-inch-tall BFGoodrich tires mounted on custom 18-inch Weld beadlock wheels. Dana driveline hardware and custom Bilstein dampers complete the undercarriage. The truck wears black-and-yellow livery with yellow-and-black upholstery inside and features rescue equipment including off-road lights, a rear-mounted external gas tank, roof-mounted spare tire, and a bright yellow front tow winch.
Ford says the vehicle showcases the potential for extreme builds using Ford-powered engines, including the Megazilla 2.0. A base Bronco produces 300 horsepower; the Bronco Raptor reaches 418.
